Decode to construct first stage of $850 million Carrington Place, Castle Hill apartment development

Ellipse Property Group is preparing to start construction in the next quarter of its $850 million Carrington Place project in Castle Hill, Sydney after receiving council approval for the 771-apartment master-planned development earlier this year.

Ellipse, which has amassed a solid portfolio of residential and mixed-use projects in Western Sydney over the past seven years, is developing Carrington Place on a 3.2ha site 36 Carrington Road that the company has been sitting on since 2016.

The site sits opposite The Hills Showground Metro Station which has driven a development wave in the suburb that is transforming the area into a retail, commercial and residential hub.

Described as the ‘largest and greenest’ residential development in Castle Hill, Carrington Place will deliver a range of apartments comprising one, two and three-bedroom layouts across five mid-rise towers of between eight and 12 storeys, with plans to include a collection of larger premium two and three-bedroom residences to suit downsizers.

The first stage of the development, Atrium, will comprise 151 apartments in an eight-storey building that will offer rooftop recreational spaces.

Ellipse says that Atrium will be the ‘gateway to the Carrington Place precinct, embodying the essence of the community’s vision for a sustainable and healthy lifestyle’.

The development includes more than 2ha of outdoor recreational space with gardens that the developer says will make it ‘one of the greenest master-planned communities in the Hills district’.

The outdoor space will include a 1km boardwalk along the length of the Cattai Creek connecting to Fred Caterson Reserve, a 58ha local reserve that hosts a range of public amenities including picnic tables, children’s playgrounds and sports facilities for soccer, baseball, tennis and cricket.

Working with the local council, Ellipse Property says it will dedicate more than 6,500sqm of Cattai Creek to the community with plans to assist with the revegetation management and landscaping of the Cattai Creek Masterplan that spans Carrington Place site.

"The project seamlessly blends with the surrounding nature and aims to become one of Sydney's most sustainable urban communities," says Carrington Place project director Joseph Chiha.

Ellipse Property founder and CEO Sam El Rihani says Carrington Place is a significant milestone development for the company, which has been buoyed by strong market interest in the project.

Carrington Place will be a staged development that is expected to be delivered over the next nine years.

Ellipse Property Group is gearing up for a start in the next few months to the first stage Atrium tower which is estimated to be completed by the third quarter of 2025.
